The axle weights of a loaded rig depend on
two things: (1) empty axle weights,
(2) center of gravity (CG) of payload.
To help balance axle weights
Freight Seesaw estimates (2) based
on pallet pattern and individual pallet weights.
Freight Seesaw assumes freight is centered on each pallet (almost always true).
It only takes a few trials to determine which CGs work best for your equipment. (Tip: start with loads that have identical freight on every pallet.) Anytime you haul a heavy load, enter the pallet pattern into Freight Seesaw to calculate its CG. If the drive and trailer axles scale about the same, this is a good number for your rig. If the drive axles scale a lot heavier, it is too low. If the trailer axles scale a lot heavier, it is too high.
Freight Seesaw displays CG in the same units as the pallet size. Users outside of North America should use 2 cm instead of 1 inch as the base unit.
